2020 is by far the worst year anyone has experienced. The reason we all know is this deadly virus called “Corona Virus” or also widely known as “Covid-19”. Who would have known what the year had in store for us? My heart goes out to the families who have lost their loved ones. People have lost their jobs or been put on furlough. It has affected a lot of industries especially the travel sector.
Due to the pandemic, many of us had to cancel our reservations. Some are still fighting for their refunds. We all have had our share of losses. Some are stuck abroad and have been away from their families, while some countries have initiated evacuation for their citizens from affected areas.
How badly we want to travel? This lockdown has certainly taught us to value everything in life. Nobody wants to be cooped up indoors anymore. We want to get back to our daily routine, travel, meet friends, make new friends. Don’t we?
Some Do’s and Don’ts : Post lockdown measures are mandatory.
- While traveling on public transport make sure you have your masks on – This is for your own safety.
- Maintain social distancing.
- Try to choose a safe mode of transport. A personal vehicle will be a boon.
Flights✈: While we are aware the aviation industry has taken a battering, recuperating will take time. The prices are bound to shoot up. People are required to wear masks compulsorily. If found without a face mask, it is been told you could be denied for boarding. Passengers will have to go through temperature screening. Airports are reporting that it could take passengers as long as four hours to board a flight with the new measures in place. God save us..!!
A detailed list of international flight operations by country:
Hotels🏨: Hotels will likely set up touch-free hand sanitizer stations in lobbies and throughout their properties. Front-desk agents might be equipped with face masks and gloves to complete check-in and check-out procedures as well as handle guest requests. Contactless cards will be the safest and fastest way to make payments.
Safe Travel Program: Travel agencies are likely to sign up with health partners to ensure the safety of the clients. One such strong move has been taken up by Thomas Cook India. Kudos..!! 🙌🏻They surely keep their clients on top priority. I’m happy I was once a part of this organization.
Despite certain lockdown measures are uplifted, its best to avoid the below-listed countries for your next travel.
- South Africa.

It helps you connect to nature, culture, language, traditions, etc. Travel is indeed a good teacher. It surely heals your mind and soul.
I guess in this crucial time it’s our old travel memories that are keeping the love for travel intact. Let’s continue sharing our throwbacks and keep the passion alive.
Let us hope things get back on track soon. My travel bucket list is eagerly waiting to be ticked off. What about you?
Let us not forget to thank all the heroes who have been working hard to fight against this deadly virus.🙌👏
